I find this plan given by a hair care specialist in a website. I give the plan as it is. This will help.

List of foods to Add in your Diet

Steamed Sprouts – 3 times a week
Green leafy vegetables – 3 times a week
Green beans – 3 times a week, like Gavar, chawli, wal, papdi, French beans,etc.,
Fresh fruits per day – cut & eat with the fruit skin – no juice
Raw salads – Radish, Beetroot, carrot, cucumber, tomato,etc., cut & add salt, pepper, mayonnaise, no salad dressing, no sauce.
Dry Beans – like Rajma, black beans, yellow beans, kidney beans – twice a week
All types of dals – black dal, yellow dal – turn by turn daily
Paneer (cottage cheese), chola (chick peas), soya, tofu – each – once a week.
4 walnuts / 4 almonds on alternate days
1 glass of milk per day
1tsp ghee or 1 slice of cheese per day.

List of foods to Avoid

Mutton, Red meat, fish fry, tandoor chicken, home made fish or chicken cooked – once in ten days – eat two pieces – no gravy.
Coconut gravy, groundnuts or peanuts, excess potato, pasta & noodles.
Fried foods – samosa, puri, papad, dosas, chips, wada, etc.
Sugar foods – chocolates, pastries, cakes, ice cream, sweets, desserts, etc.
Bakery foods – biscuits, toasts, khari, puffs, patties, rolls, cupcake, doughnuts
Chinese foods – aginomoto or Chinese salt is bad for hair.
Fast foods – pizza, burgers, canned foods,
Colas, coke, pepsi, soft drinks and all kinds of juice
Strictly No Smoking.

Hi Srimathi,

  I don't believe in this diet for hair growth. Do you think that all those who have good hair does not eat all these foods. In fact I do, and I have a good crop of hair on my head.
Take whaever food you take, those should be rich in proteins, calcium and vitamins. What I always tell others is that ' eat a handful of nuts a day'.  It'll sure help.  Also massage your hair with warm oil atleast once a week. Do not comb wet hair. Remove the tangles if any with your fingers as much as you can. Use only mil, herbal shampoos.
Look after your hair very well and you'll see your hair glowing and shining.
