Stomach pain and Headaches

My five year old son has stomach pain, and headaches dailey. His colon stays blocked and full of air. He has bowel movements three times a day. He is also on Mirlax. He just can't get any relief. His face turns real red when he is hurting. Any suggestions?

He should eat more fruits and vegetables, they provide fibre.

Have they done any sonograms to look and see if anything is blocking or if all or the passage ways are clear? Some of them may be built so tiny that great strain is needed to push through. My daughter had a similiar problem when she was young. We ended up having to use suppositories daily and she had to eat a lot of prunes. She stilll has bowel problems. Now as a 13 year old, she has to take stool softeners at double the adult amount, occasionally use suppositories and eat lots of prunes. She also has headaches, severe migraines. I never thought they were related. Maybe I should suggest that to her doctors. I sure hope your son feels better soon. It is no fun having a child who hurts.

I just remembered something that they taught me when she was small that we still do today. It is a massage of the colon/intestines. It is very important that you do it in the right order, because backwards could impact more. At the top of the stomach on the left side, massage down. Press fairly firmly. Go down in the shape of an I (without the top and bottom)do that three or four times. Then Go to the top of the right side of the tummy and make a line to the right side like -- and then come down in the I again, so it is like an upside down L. Make sure you are firmly massaging, because what you are doing is pushing air pockets out and poop. It causes gas and maybe even poop to come out. Then the last massage part is am upside down U, starting on the right side bottom of the tummy. Then after you have done this several times, you can start to do a paddle wheel technique on the tummy. All should be done firmly, like you are pushing on clay and need it to move. My daughter actually said it felt good. I was able to learn what felt like gas and what felt like poop. Oh, the way they taught me to remember the first stop was I means I, upside down L stands for Love and upside down U stands for you, and it helped you to remember it by saying I love you.
