My hair has been falling out very rapidly lately. When I shower the drain gets clogged with my hair and all I have to do is run my hand through my hair and I get a big handful of it. Luckily I have really thick hair so its not showing. But if it doesnt stop Im afraid it will show. Ive been taking prenatal vitamins because someone told me it should help but i dunno. Im not pregnent, nore have I just had a baby. Im not on the pill. Those are questions Ive been getting alot...so I Figure I should just get that out of the way now. Could this be something else or just from poor diet? I work alot so I dont always have the time to eat a good meal. I never eat breakfast. And like today for instance... and this is pretty normal for me. I went to work at 8 and had nothing to eat. I went to a fast food place and had some chicken and fries... Dr. Pepper...The only thing I drink. and a candy bar... and when I got home I had a bowl of cereal. Thats usually how it goes. But the fact that I dont get the time sit down to a good meal is rough. Ive never eaten vegetables so Im sure that must have something to do with it right? Any answers would be great. I just dont know what to do. And I cant offord to go to the doctors. I just moved 3 states away from home and its just not in my budget right now.

Sometimes hair loss is because of tension and stress. After the stress is reduced, hair fall will stop automically

hi
To loose few strands is normal but if it is in clumps its better you consult a hair consultant so as to rule out any hormonal changes, also try after you consult a doctor a course of multivitamin tablets ,use a good brand shampoo like JF lazartique or herbal essence, do not blow dry hair often and keep usage of curlers and heat rod minimal.

The other home remedy would be to use the  white of the egg with lemon juice to condition and strengten hair roots and a hot oil massage from VO5 or plain live oil is good .

Some people have found using Rogaine useful for reducing hair loss. It is available in the US , but I am not sure whether it can be found elsewhere

hi

I think that you need a Doctor's advice. Anyway I will give some suggestions what I know.

If you do not have time to eat breakfast, drink Soya content health drink twice in a day. This will help to balance your diet.

Drink fresh fruit juices and tender, to keep your (inner) body cool.

Do not avoid vegetables, concentrate on your diet for good health and to reduce hair fall. Protein and Iron is must for hair growth and to reduce hair fall.

Do not worry, be Happy.

I have had same problems lately and I am 20 yrs old. You may try using this home made remedy:
2 tablespoon of onion juice mixed with 2 tablespoon of hot oil, an egg and yougurt. Massage on your scalp three times a week, leave it on for 1 hour and then wash it off with shampoo and then condition ur hair. Do not let conditioner get to ur scalp, only apply it to ur hair ends, because conditioner in ur scalp softens hair root and causes it to fall. Then dry your hair with a warm towel, do not blow dry or iron your hair often.
Try this remedy for 3 months continuously and you'll see the results, don't forget to put the onion juice in the mixture. Although the onion smell will remain a bit even after you shampoo but thats the key ingredient that will make ur hair fall lessen.
Good luck

it's totally normal to loose 50-100 hairs a day. Hair is constantly growing and the hairs you've lost will be replaced. If your hair's falling out in clumps, maybe it would be wise for you to see a doctor when you have the money. Stress can cause hair loss to, so it's important that you try not to stress yourself out of it. That'll make it worse! Once the stressful time passes, your hair should come back to normal in a few months.

I found, when I had your problem, that cutting your hair helps. I used to have long hair and it was falling out like yours is, so I went to the hairdresser and asked her to cut it off. The hair loss stopped and now I'm growing it out again, and I only lose 15 hairs, and that's on a bad day.

So to sum it up, de-stress, go see a doctor when you can, and eat right. Remember though, it's normal too loose arounf 50 to 100 hairs a day. That's only, 9% of your whole head.

Hair goes through stages. I can't remember the names, bu there's a growing stage, a resting stage, and a stage where the hair falls out, you could be going through the last stage.

Good luck.

Dear,

You are only 18 as you say and you are not looking after your health. Your health is your main problem. I think you'll be a little anaemic.. Have you checked it out??
Eat right and not just fast foods... Fast foods fill your stomach but won't help you with your health.
You'll have to eat right for your hair sake. Eat vegetables, fruits and nuts. Nuts are very important for your hair growth. Just look after your health and eat properly and you'll see your hair automatically responding to it.

You should really eat vegetables, at least once a week. I don't like vegetables much but I occasionally eat them as a salad, or even with soup. Try Chinese food that comes with vegetables, such as chicken with brocolli, or those other meals.
